Women's Menstruation Phases

The 4 monthly menstruation phases and which foods/supplements to incorporate and which foods to avoid to stay balanced and when.

Did you know we’re always on our cycle? This applies to men too.

Women have a monthly hormonal cycle made up of 4 menstruation phases with large scale fluctuations of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone throughout the month, while men have a 24 hour hormonal cycle with testosterone levels slowly building during sleep, and peaking in the morning. As a man’s day progresses, testosterone levels slowly fall to their lowest point in the evening.

Our cycles have a lot of control over how we feel in our bodies: our energy, mood, emotions, anxiety, appetite, cravings (often vitamin & mineral deficiencies), and sensitivities (what could be harmful to our bodies). These wildly different time frames and hormone fluctuations can explain a lot of the day-to-day differences in men & women’s performance and how we show up in the world. When either of our cycle’s are off (hormones are not balanced), we can look directly to diet and lifestyle for explanations and solutions. Everything we put into our body matters!

In this guide we’ll be focusing on Women’s 4 monthly menstruation phases highlighting which foods/supplements to incorporate and which foods to avoid to stay balanced and when.
